Compensation Data: The Start
Take a look and compare with your current role or find your next step
Over the past week I’ve started to see compensation data stream out from a few sources such as Pave and from RepVue. This feels like the start of something bigger. More clarity on how compensation works. And in Colorado, most all job postings are showing pay range in the job description. So that’s something.
The data below is not perfect. But it’s a starting place and can give SDRs/BDRs something to aspire towards and give current AEs a chance to re-calibrate on what are their goals over the next 2-3 years. What really matters.
Before you dive in, I will also add, I am happy to discuss and try and help by giving some behind the scenes context. When you consider your Base and OTE, you also do want to think deep on the company stage, the growth trajectory, who will be your manager, and what does the sales motion feel like (Persona, average deal length, and supporting team on your side). Not to mention: culture, equity, spiffs, and product market fit of the company ← this usually can tell you if it will feel like you are turning into the wind or if there is a strong breeze behind you.

There’s a lot to unpack.
Perhaps, what this is showing is that for a Mid Market Account Executive, a Base of $80,000 and an OTE of $160,000 would be fair, above market average, and something to consider. For some that will feel about right, for others that will feel awfully low.
If you are starting to look or consider your next career step, below are a few companies that are hiring and in position to lead their space.

The volume of data and e-discovery workloads is growing at a rapid pace — which is causing it to become more demanding. And litigators and investigators are struggling with the cost and complexity of mining through massive troves of documents. Evidence is known as the “lifeblood of law,” but only a small fraction of documents are relevant for each case. This is why modern e-discovery is a new imperative for quickly uncovering that needle of truth in the haystack required to advance justice. (Source: Pulse2)
